Minecraft Finds Vein of Money and Reaches 15 million Sold On PC

The original, PC version of Minecraft recently reached 15 million sales according to a tweet sent by the game's creator, Markus "Notch" Persson. In February the game was sold 14 million copies on PC. It also crossed two other milestones across other platforms 12 million copies on Xbox 360, and 21 million for Pocket Edition on Android or iOS.

Minecraft was released in beta for the first time in May 2009. This was long before the official version was released in November 2011. The developer Mojang recently launched its subscription-based Minecraft Realms service for hosting multiplayer worlds. 360 degrees all the way around The service starts at $13 a month. It plans to launch a boxed retail version of the game for PS3 in May it sold one million copies digitally during the first month of its release on PSN and will also launch PS4 and Vita versions in Q2 or Q3 this year.
