It's rarely tripped up or stuck during a cleaning cycle. In my tests it was the most effective at avoiding objects such as power cables. It's not as reliable in detecting pet waste, or other dangers.

2. Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While the Anker-owned Eufy has earned an impact in the field of low-cost robot vacuums, it hasn't previously offered an all-in-one model which can also mop. The X8 Hybrid is a new model that has a wide range of modern features and can compete with much more expensive models.

The most significant selling point for Eufy with the X8 is its laser navigation. The X8 uses laser mapping technology that is more accurate than previous Eufy devices. It takes less time to build an extensive map of your home. It also has the ability to store multiple maps. This is ideal for homes with multiple floors.

The X8 is still a good vacuum on bare floors that can carry debris under its side brushes and into its 400ml dust bin with relative ease. The X8's tyres, despite having a circular shape, are adept in grabbing corners and edges. Our tests showed that it was able to remove 90 percent of the fur on hard floors.

The mopping mode that is the basic one uses the same water reservoir as the vacuuming mode. This is great for spills that are not too serious, but you cannot control the amount of water it uses. That said, it does an excellent job of removing pet hair, and has a higher percentage of hair removal than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Awarded for its quiet and efficient home appliances, Miele's RX2 robot vacuum comes with outstanding cleaning power, gorgeous design, and a great navigation. It has a few oddities in its operation that prevent it from being considered the top smart robot vacuum.

The RX2 comes with a dual-sensor mapping technique which uses LIDAR to map an area as well as a pair of 3D scanning cameras for detecting and eliminating obstacles (such as furniture legs or pet waste).
